The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has invited bids to develop a 600 MW floating solar park at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh.
RUMSL is a joint venture of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam.
The 600 MW capacity will comprise six units of 100 MW each of floating solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects to be developed at pre-identified locations at the Omkareshwar reservoir.
The last date to submit the bids is January 31, 2022, and bids will be opened on February 1.
Bidders will have to submit an amount of ?650,000 (~$8,667)/MW as an earnest money deposit.
RUMSL will provide the evacuating infrastructure for the projects. Any bidder that shares a land border with India will be eligible to participate in the tender if such bidder is registered with the competent authority.
The bidder should have experience installing and commissioning floating solar projects with a minimum capacity of 2.5 MW, out of which 1 MW should have been commissioned. The bidder should also have experience installing and commissioning ground-mounted solar projects with a minimum aggregate capacity of 200 MW.
Alternatively, the bidder should have experience installing and commissioning ground-mounted solar projects with a minimum aggregate capacity equivalent to double the capacity quoted by the bidder.
The experience required for developing ground-mounted solar projects should be cumulative but in not more than three completed contracts. At least one such project should have a capacity of 50 MW.
The bidder’s average annual turnover should be at least ?40 million (~$533,376)/MW of the total quoted capacity during the last three years. During the previous financial year, the bidder should have a minimum net worth of ?9 million (~$120,010)/MW of the quoted capacity.
In August last year, NHDC, a joint venture between NHPC Limited and the Madhya Pradesh government, invited bids for a 25 MW floating solar power project at the same Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh.
