NTPC arm signs PPA for 325 MW solar project in Madhya Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has signed a power purchase agreement with Indian Railways, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL).

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, India’s largest integrated energy company, has signed the power purchase and other project agreements for the 325 MW of solar projects won in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited’s auction held in July this year.

The company signed the PPA with Indian Railways, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, and R.K. Singh, union minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy.

The projects are being installed in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

NTPC RE Limited had won a capacity of 105 MW quoting INR 2.35/kWh, and also a capacity of 220 MW quoting INR 2.33/kWh in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited’s auction for 450 MW of solar projects at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. NTPC has won more than 6 GW of RE capacity through competitive biddings.
