Huntsville issues permit for $49 million Toyota solar project

Work is getting underway on Toyota Motor Manufacturing’s $49 million solar project.

The city of Huntsville issued a building permit totaling $42.8 million for the project last week at 1 Cotton Valley Drive. Inman Solar Inc. is listed as the builder for a building and solar panels.

It was the most expensive project issued a permit last week in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties, according to Southern Exposure Information.

Overall, 150 projects were issued permits totaling more than $103 million during the week. Huntsville issued 97 permits totaling $90.8 million. Madison County issued 38 totaling more than $9.7 million, Decatur seven for $944,000, Athens four for $1.1 million and Priceville four for $390,000.

The Toyota project is being constructed on a 168-acre site off Bob Wade Lane in north Huntsville, according to reporter of Toyota.
