Hindustan Salts Limited, through its subsidiary Sambhar Salts, has issued a tender to develop an ultra-mega solar project of up to 4 GW at Sambhar in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The government-owned salt company also issued an expression of interest to develop a solar project of up to 1 GW capacity at Kharaghoda in Surendranagar, Gujarat.
The last date to submit bids for both tenders is December 13, 2021. Bids will be opened the next day.
Bidders are not required to furnish any earnest money deposit for these tenders.
The successful bidder will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining all permits, licenses, approvals, no objection certificates, and clearance from all authorities. They should also procure the required equipment to develop the projects and evacuate and transmit power. The bidder must develop the project on the land of Hindustan Salts, operate the project and generate revenue from the sale of generated power. Hindustan Salts will provide administrative support for the project wherever required. But it will be the sole responsibility of the developer to sell power by entering power purchase agreements.
After commissioning the projects, the successful bidders should provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years. They must also provide solar radiation and weather monitoring systems for information and control of the parameters.
The successful bidders will have to deliver power to Central Transmission Utility (CTU) substations in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The company will provide land to the successful bidders to develop solar projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The bidders must pay rent per acre basis for the provided land annually. The rent will remain constant for two years, after which it will be increased 5% annually.
To participate in the competitive bidding process for both projects, bidders have to provide information about their previous experience developing solar power projects in India on a turnkey basis. They must also submit details about the annual average turnover in solar power projects in the last three financial years.
In 2017, Hindustan Salts Limited invited bids to develop a 100 MW solar project at Kharaghoda in Gujarat.
Mercom had earlier reported that Sambhar Salts Limited, a subsidiary of Hindustan Salts Limited, invited bids to develop a 100 MW solar project in Sambhar, Rajasthan.
