China Knowledge quoted according to statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said China saw new energy vehicle sales total 10,202 units in the first quarter of this year.
Of the total sales, pure electric, hybrid and gasoline substitute-powered vehicles reached 1,830, 1,499 and 6,873 units respectively.
CAAM also said China manufactured 8,626 new energy vehicles in the three month period. The output of pure electrics, hybrids and gasoline substitute-powered vehicles amounted to 1,655, 1,300 and 5,671 units, respectively.
In 2011, the country output of new-energy vehicles totaled 8,368 units, even less than that in the first quarter of 2012. The output for last year included 5,655 pure electric and 2,713 hybrid vehicles.
Sales of new-energy vehicles stood at 8,159 units in China last year, including 5,579 pure electrics and 2,580 hybrids. Sedan sales accounted for 61% of the total sales while bus sales accounted for 28%.
