AT&T Park hits home run with Solectria Renewables' Solar Inverters

Baseball got off to a green start this week at AT&T Park in San Francisco, with the help of Solectria Renewables. Using a combination of four Solectria Renewables inverters and 500 Sharp Solar panels, AT&T Park opened baseball season as the first MLB stadium featuring a large-scale photovoltaic system.

A joint partnership between the San Francisco Giants and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), the project includes Sharp Solar panels in three areas of the baseball park– the Port Walk along McCovey Cove, on the newly erected canopy over the Willie Mays pedestrian ramp and on the roof of the Giants Building. Together, the system generates 120 kilowatts (kW) of electricity to power the stadium scoreboard and  deliver clean energy to PG&E's customers throughout northern and central California.

"We're proud to a part of this historic installation," said James Worden, CEO of Solectria Renewables. "From powering the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center to the scoreboard at AT&T Park, we are rapidly becoming the inverter company of choice for high-profile solar systems."

This project was designed and installed by Solar Design Associates of Harvard, MA working with Cupertino Electric of Santa Fe Springs, CA.  "Solectria Renewables has always focused on premium efficiency which is of value from both an economic and environmental perspective.  We have used Solectria Renewables' inverters on numerous installations and specify them whenever possible," said Steven J. Strong, President of Solar Design Associates, Inc.

Solectria Renewables, LLC, of Lawrence, Massachusetts is a leader in the development and manufacturing of a wide range of inverters for renewable power applications including 1.8kW to 95kW grid tied PV inverters for systems from 1kW to 1MW.  Solectria Renewables has an 18-year background in inverters and other electronic power systems for harsh environments.
