World's largest CIS thin-film solar power plant now online

Solar Frontier and Belectric have recently announced the completion of the world's largest CIS thin-film solar power plant in Germany – now connected to the grid and fully operational.
The 28.8 MW project in Bochow, near Brandenburg, consists of more than 200,000 CIS thin-film modules supplied by Solar Frontier. The modules are of a uniform black colour and were manufactured at Solar Frontier's Kunitomi plant in Miyazaki, Japan. Certification for the modules has been provided by TUV Rheinland Japan (in accordance with IEC), Underwriters Laboratories and BRE Global (in accordance with MCS). The certifications include salt and ammonia resistance.

Investment in the project has been provided by CommerzReal and financing by HypoVereinsbank (HBV)/Unicredit.

Solar Frontier is a subsidiary of Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. Belelectric develops and implements ground-mounted solar power plants and roof-mounted photovoltaic systems.
