Wind energy project picks EPC contractor

Wind Capital Group LLC selected RMT Inc. to design and build its 150 MW Osage County Wind Energy Facility in Oklahoma.


The wind farm will use 94 GE 1.6 MW turbines. RMT will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the civil and electrical infrastructure, including roads, crane paths and pads, turbine foundations and site restoration. The electrical infrastructure includes a 34.5 kV underground collector system, a 34.5/138 kV power substation and a 138 kV transmission line. RMT is also responsible for tower erection, in-tower wiring, mechanical turbine completion and testing and inspections.


Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2011 with project completion scheduled for June 2012.
