US:Three deals in renewable energy

MPM Technologies Inc., in Parsippany, said Monday it entered into a strategic alliance with Foton Technologies LLC, of Florida, to develop chemicals, liquid fuels and renewable power from the conversion of carbon-rich wastes into clean-burning synthesis gas.

Petra Solar, in South Plainfield, a supplier of pole-mounted solar panels, said Monday it entered into an agreement with Singapore’s Flextronics, a provider of electronics manufacturing services. Petra said the agreement will help it deliver its products internationally.

NRG Energy Inc., in Princeton, said Monday its subsidiary, NRG Solar, entered into an agreement to acquire a portfolio of solar development projects in California and Arizona from US Solar, an affiliate of Arclight Capital Partners LLC. The portfolio includes nine sites, each with expected power output of 20 to 99 megawatts. NRG said it expects the acquisition to almost double its solar projects under development to 1,150 megawatts.
