Since November 2023, the facility has been in operation, capable of producing up to 2.5 GW of trackers and designed for scalability to meet the rising demand. Beyond serving the local market, the factory aims to supply Genius Tracker units to other Latin American countries.
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has granted FINAME certification to GameChange Solar’s Genius Tracker trackers. This certification underscores the trackers’ adherence to Brazil’s stringent domestic content and manufacturing process standards.
Vikas Bansal, International President at GameChange Solar, emphasized the company’s commitment to the Brazilian solar economy, stating, “Opening our new factory in Brazil demonstrates GameChange Solar’s dedication to the Brazilian solar economy.”
Ion Accosta, Operations Director & Head of Brazil at GameChange Solar, highlighted the strategic importance of having the factory and service center alongside the business headquarters in São Paulo. This expansion positions GameChange Solar to provide customer service, covering in-country manufacturing, training, service, and support.
Forecasts from Absolar, Brazil’s solar energy association, indicate that new investments in the country’s solar PV industry could exceed BRL 38.9 billion ($7.8 billion) in 2024. Developers are expected to install over 9.3 GW of solar capacity this year.
