PASH Global and Tswana Renewables JV to Develop 30 MWp Solar Projects in Botswana

PASH Global, an impact investor in renewable energy, has announced a joint venture with Gaborone-based Tswana Renewables to develop distributed clean energy in Botswana. The collaboration has established a project pipeline of 30 MWp of solar PV power for private customers in the country.

The joint venture marks the largest distributed generation strategy in Botswana and represents a significant investment in the country’s energy infrastructure, but the economic terms of the collaboration have not been revealed. The first two solar projects of the joint venture are already under construction at Travelodge in Gaborone and Ramotswe in the South-East district.

Kofi Owusu Bempah, CEO of PASH Global, said, their partnership with Tswana Renewables is a major step towards achieving the company’s vision of a sustainable future for all. PASH will work with the Gaborone-based clean energy developer and other stakeholders to drive the growth of the renewable energy sector and bring affordable energy to the people of Botswana.

According to Nick Taylor and Kunal Naik, the Directors of Tswana Renewables, the joint venture has a huge potential to bring just energy transition in Botswana. The new partnership will help in achieving their shared goal of developing clean, affordable, and reliable electricity for private customers in the country.

Botswana has a huge potential for solar energy, making it an attractive place for renewable energy investment. The Botswana government has been supporting renewable energy development by implementing policies and providing incentives to encourage investment in this sector.
