China Southern Power Grid has reached agreements with the government of Laos to build a national power grid and a hydropower project in the country, wire services reported.
The state-owned power distributor in China's five southern provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on investment in and construction of a grid network in Laos as well as an agreement to develop the Nam Tha 1 hydropower project, CSPG reported.
In other news, Toshiba Corporation recently announced it is supplying pumped-storage hydro plant systems to CSG Power Generation Company, a group company of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. for a hydro project in China.
