Brian Dickerson: Why I'm voting for renewable energy

If you believe the $6-million TV campaign Michigan's utility companies have bankrolled to fight a voter initiative that would require them to generate a quarter of the state's power from renewable energy sources by 2025, you might imagine that the utilities' executives lie awake nights worrying that their customers could face — gasp! —higher rates for their heat, air-conditioning and electricity.

Or you might think that utility executives are worried sick that voters are about to violate the sanctity of state Constitution.
