Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has inked a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Chalet Hotels Limited. This partnership paves the way for a Group Captive Project, boasting a robust 6 MW AC capacity.
Chalet Hotels Limited, renowned for its ownership, development, asset management, and operation of upscale hotels, resorts, and mixed-use developments throughout India, will collaborate with TPREL to harness the potential of renewable energy. The project is projected to generate an impressive 13.75 million units of clean energy from renewable sources. Notably, this eco-friendly initiative will also contribute to reducing carbon emissions by approximately 9762 tonnes annually, echoing the shared vision of both companies for a cleaner, more sustainable future for the hospitality industry.
TPREL is dedicated to supporting a diverse range of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) consumers across various industries, including steel, automotive, polymer, hospitality, retail, and realty. Through these collaborations, TPREL aims to enable sustainable operations by harnessing the power of renewable energy.
Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with Chalet Hotels Limited to generate renewable energy for its properties through a 6 MW AC (8.75 MWp) Group Captive project. This association not only promotes the mainstream use of clean energy but also contributes significantly to the decarbonization of the hospitality industry.”
Mr. Sanjay Sethi, MD & CEO at Chalet Hotels Limited, echoed the sentiment, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited on this significant initiative. Notably, this partnership follows TPREL’s recent Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Private Limited for a Captive Solar Plant boasting a robust capacity of 28.125 MW (AC) and a Captive Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) for 4.4 MW (AC) with the ANAND Group, a globally recognized leader in the automotive systems and parts industry.
With the addition of this project’s capacity, TPREL’s total renewables capacity surges to 7,821 MW, which includes projects with a cumulative capacity of 3,689 MW at various stages of implementation. The operational capacity stands at an impressive 4,132 MW, including 3,139 MW from solar and 993 MW from wind energy sources.
