Ascent Solar, Energy Tech aim for military deals

* Ascent Solar to team up with Energy Technologies, Inc


* Deal to focus on solar projects for U.S. military


LOS ANGELES, Sept 25 (Reuters) – Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (ASTI.O) will team with Energy Technologies, Inc to develop solar power projects designed for the U.S. military, in a bid to win defense customers, the companies said on Friday.


The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.


The companies will work on hybrid solar power generation systems for military shelters that can be deployed quickly.


Ascent Solar, based in Thornton, Colorado, makes flexible thin-film solar panels.


Privately held Energy Technologies, based in Mansfield, Ohio, makes products like power generation and computer components that can survive in harsh environments.


Shares of Ascent Solar closed up 10.85 percent at $8.17 on Friday on the Nasdaq.
