Dec 22 (Reuters) – A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd (APWR.O)
said it signed an $86 million deal with Thailand's Biomass
Electricity Co to build a 150 megawatt biomass firing power plant in
Thailand.
Shares of Chinese wind turbine maker A-Power rose 8 percent in
morning trade Tuesday on Nasdaq to a year-high of $21.04, before
paring some gains to trade up 6 percent at $20.75.
The contract with Biomass Electricity covers the design of the power
station, the procurement and installation of three main engines and
other auxiliary equipment, A-Power said in a statement.
Also, A-Power will be the general contractor for the five main power
station systems in the plant, the company said.
The company said estimated duration of the project is 27 months.
