Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bangalore is setting up a 100 MW (AC) floating solar power plant for state-owned power generator NTPC at Ramagundam Thermal Power Plant in Telangana. For the plant, it has invited bids for supply, installation and commissioning of balance-of-system (BOS) items—excluding the installation of floating PV module array with string combiner box (SCB), early streamer emission lightning arresters (ESE LAs) and associated earthing.
The supply and installation of all floatation devices for forming floating islands, installation of PV modules, SCB, ESE LAs for the solar array, series cabling of modules, cable termination up to SCB and solar array earthing are in the scope of BHEL.
The bidder’s scope includes the supply of several other infrastructural support systems such as UPS, plant illumination system, fire alarm system, weather monitoring system, earthing system for inverter platform, cables and cable termination units. The bidder is required to supply 42 sets of UPS—five sets of 5 kVA and 37 sets of 3kVA—all with Ni-Cd battery bank.
