Air Berlin, Commerzbank, Vattenfall: German Equity Preview

 The following stocks may rise or fall in German markets. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the Xetra close unless otherwise stated.


DAX futures expiring in September rose 50 points, or 0.6 percent, to 8155.50 on July 13 in Frankfurt. The DAX increased 0.5 percent to 8092.77 on the Xetra electronic-trading system.


Air Berlin Plc (AB1 GY): Europe's third-largest discount airline may face strike action during the peak of the holiday season if pilots at its LTU unit vote to walk out in a ballot ending Aug. 6, Der Spiegel reported. The shares fell 19 cents, or 1.1 percent, to 16.64 euros.


Commerzbank AG (CBK GY): Germany's second-largest bank by assets faces a lawsuit by a shareholder group over the lender's plans to force out remaining shareholders of Europhypo AG, Euro am Sonntag reported. The stock fell 10 cents, or 0.3 percent, to 35.08 euros.


Duerr AG (DUE GY): The automotive-plants and machinery maker expects revenue in the second quarter to match the previous year's because of project delays, although it is still targeting a sales increase of as much as 10 percent this year, Chief Executive Officer Ralf Dieter told Boersen-Zeitung in an interview. The shares rose 2 cents to 33.35 euros.


Siemens AG (SIE GY): Continental AG and TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. will be shown the books of Siemens's VDO unit, which may lead to bids for the automotive-parts maker, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said. The stock increased 12 cents to 111.11 euros.


Thielert AG (T3C GY): The German maker of diesel aviation engines may lose a client that accounts for 25 percent of its sales because the customer wants to make its own motors, Euro am Sonntag reported. The shares fell 67 cents, or 3.1 percent, to 21.22 euros.


Vattenfall Europe AG (VTT GY): Germany's fourth-largest utility denied a report it plans to stop supplying nuclear power after incidents at the Kruemmel and Brunsbuettel reactors. Bruno Thomauske, head of the company's nuclear-power division, may lose his job as a result of the crisis, Tagesspiegel said. Vattenfall shares fell 8 cents to 48.20 euros.
