Source:Pv magazine

In order to fulfil the renewable power purchase obligation and to meet the future requirements of Discoms, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has invited bids from developers to supply up to 500 MW of solar power under Phase VIII. The projects shall be awarded through international competitive bidding followed by reverse auction.

Bidders shall have to choose the locations and sub-stations for their proposed solar power project from a list available on the website of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO).

GUVNL shall enter into PPA with successful bidders for a period of 25 years, with maximum tariff payable set as Rs 2.65/unit.

A developer can submit only a single application, subject to minimum bidding for 25 MW. To be eligible, it should have a net worth of minimum Rs 10.7 million per MW (of the capacity quoted).

The successful bidders shall set up solar power projects including the transmission network up to the delivery Point at their own cost. However, the selection of projects would be technology agnostic within PV technology, which means crystalline silicon, thin film, etc—with or without trackers—can be installed. The minimum project capacity shall be 25 MW.

Bidding closes on March 7.

185 MW by GSECL

The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has launched a tender to choose an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contractor for an aggregate 185 MW of grid-connected crystalline-silicon solar capacity in the state of Gujarat. The plants—ranging from 20 MW to 40 MW—shall come up at government wastelands around various substations of GETCO.

The selected contractors shall also provide operation and maintenance support for the plants.

Site-wise capacities are 80 MW in Bhavnagar district, Surendranagar (35 MW), Jamnagar (40 MW) and Botad (30 MW).

The commissioning target is 20 MW within 10 months from the date of notice to proceed, 21 to 40 MW within 11 months from the NTP and above 40 MW within 12 months.

Bidding closes on February 28.
