Solar panels, a safe investment for the future of clean energy and a green environment

At a time when concerns about climate change and demands for sustainable energy sources are growing, solar panels are receiving increasing attention.

This technology, which harnesses solar energy to produce electricity, has gained popularity worldwide due to its potential to reduce energy costs and minimal impact on the environment.

But, what is the importance of using solar energy and what are the benefits associated with this technology, Xhevat Muqa, owner of the company “Muqa Solar”, spoke in an interview with Telegrafi.

Muqa said that one of the main reasons why solar energy is an excellent investment opportunity is the continuous increase in the price of electricity.

He predicts a 33 percent increase in the price of electricity in 2025.

In this context, as he said, solar panels offer an opportunity to reduce energy costs and have a sustainable energy source for many years.

“Considering that electricity always increases, especially this year it is expected to increase by about 33 percent in electricity and we know that such an investment has a very long term, meaning that we provide guarantees for up to 30 years. Not only us, but every company in Kosovo provides such a guarantee. This means that every business has a guaranteed investment, because for businesses the return on investment is somewhere between 3-4 years, depending on the price, what the business is worth, while for private individuals, it may take one or two years longer. But, however, such an investment that returns the guarantee is only the ‘Photo Voltaic’ panel, or solar panels…”

According to him, Kosovo, with 290 sunny days a year, has ideal conditions for the use of solar energy.

He emphasized that, given Kosovo’s geographical conditions, it is an extraordinary opportunity for every citizen and business to invest in this technology.

“Imagine, Kosovo has 40 percent more solar radiation than Germany. If they have managed to install so many solar panels, why shouldn’t we use this opportunity to provide clean and sustainable energy,” said Muqa.

Muqa explained that every family can install a small mini solar plant in their homes and benefit from the sun’s energy every day.

“If an adequate measurement is made by engineers, an accurate calculation can be made and at the moment when an accurate calculation is made, then we can say that we can cover 80 to 100 percent, depending on the client’s request… If an accurate calculation is made, we can see that each family or each business can have 100 percent electricity from the Photo Voltaic panel. The Photo Voltaic panel produces during the day when there is sunlight, and produces energy until the evening.”

While photovoltaic panels are very efficient, Muqa indicated that there are several factors that can affect their performance.

“But what paralyzes the photovoltaic panel is heavy fog and snowfall, as they create a layer that prevents sunlight from penetrating these panels,” said Muqa.
