Total investment 10.2 billion! JA Solar is planning to build an annual capacity of 10GW efficient battery and 10GW efficient components project

JA Solar announced at noon on February 18 that the company plans to, in the form of new project company, invest and construct 10GW high-efficiency battery and 10GW high-efficiency components and supporting projects annually in Yiwu optoelectronic high-tech industrial park.

According to International PV website’s concern, on December 31 last year, the company has signed the project investment framework agreement with the management committee of Yiwu optoelectronic high-tech industrial park, and reached the cooperation intention for the annual output of 5GW high-efficiency battery and 10GW high-efficiency components and supporting projects. According to the business strategy planning, it is planned to adjust the above projects to 10GW high-efficiency battery and 10GW high-efficiency components and supporting projects.

The project is expected to cost 10.2 billion yuan and take four years to build, according to the announcement. The project is planned to be executed in two phases, with the first phase of 5GW battery +5GW module, which is scheduled to reach target output in December 2021; the Second phase of 5GW battery +5GW module, which is scheduled to reach reach target output in December 2023.

JA Solar said that the investment and construction of the project is in line with the company’s future capacity planning strategic needs, is conducive to the company to further enhance the capacity of solar cells and modules, seize the market development opportunities, and continue to increase market share.
