Swinerton Renewable Energy expands operations with new San Diego headquarters

U.S. solar contractor Swinerton Renewable Energy (SRE) recently opened its new headquarters in San Diego, California to accommodate a growing team.

SRE collaborated with ID Studios on the design, building upon a long-term partnership with the Solana Beach-based firm. SRE managed construction on the project and worked with the Swinerton self-perform trade experts on several stages of the build-out.

Construction on the office began in February 2020 and was completed in Spring 2021. The 25,000 sq-ft location expands on an existing 5,700 sq-ft operations and control center and office space that was completed in 2018.

Several large-scale graphics, including a “Solar 101” wall, reflect the SRE team’s creativity and commitment to STEM education. The space also houses the company’s 24-hour a day, 365-days a year operations and control center.
