Mr. Li Zhenguo, President of LONGi Co., Ltd. was invited to attend and deliver a speech.

Li Zhenguo said: “Kuching LONGi is the world’s first full vertically integrated monocrystalline PV manufacturing plants concentrated in the same region. It is also the only monocrystalline silicon PV manufacturing company in Sarawak. Currently, more than 2,800 employees work in Kuching LONGi, including the CEO, with a proportion of local employees over 99%. Through the professional training and technical guidance of LONGi Shares, a large number of local graduates have been trained to become skilled technicians and engineers.”

Li Zhenguo said, “LONGi has always pursued a green manufacturing model of “using clean energy to make clean energy.” Kuching LONGi has already made the supply of electricity for production by hydropower successfully. Now, LONGi is still exploring and forming the model of photovoltaic production driven by photovoltaic power to achieve complete zero-carbon-emission manufacturing.”

Prime Minister Mahathir expressed his appreciation for the promotion of China-Malaysia trade and technology exchanges in the “Belt and Road” initiative, and highly praised the outstanding contributions of Chinese companies including LONGi to Malaysia’s economic and social development.

Previously, in an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency, Prime Minister Mahathir also said: “The Belt and Road Initiative will increase trade between Southeast Asia and China. We recognize that China has made tremendous progress in new technologies and digital technologies. We feel that China is a good example and can learn a lot from China.” Kuching LONGi is a typical case in which Chinese companies actively integrate into the “Belt and Road” and promote economic and trade exchanges between China and Malaysia.

On April 27th, President Li Zhenguo also met with Datuk Azman Mamud, CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Agency (MIDA), and the two sides conducted in-depth communications and exchanges.
