Oswestry, UK: Cold Move is adding solar panels to three more cold store roofs. Cold Move started installing solar panels in 2012, an early user of solar power on cold storage sites in the UK.
The photograph shows the initial stage of the new solar PV installation at Cold Move’s Glovers Meadow site. This marks the first of three additional solar systems that are set to be commissioned by September.
“These new installations are poised to deliver tangible environmental benefits, serving as a pivotal milestone in Cold Move’s ongoing pursuit of reducing our carbon footprint,” the company says.
“By harnessing the inexhaustible power of the sun to generate clean electricity, the company is taking significant strides toward mitigating their environmental impact.”
“The expanded solar PV project not only aligns with Cold Move’s commitment to sustainability but also underscores our dedication to achieving a net-zero carbon footprint. By increasing our reliance on renewable energy, the company aims to further reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, bringing us closer to our ultimate goal of operating in harmony with the environment.”
“By integrating solar panels into our cold stores, Cold Move is proactively diversifying our energy sources and minimizing our dependence on conventional power grids. These installations not only generate clean energy but also contribute to the overall stability and resilience of our operations, reducing vulnerability to potential energy shortages. Each solar panel installation and subsequent clean energy generation moves Cold Move closer to realising our ambitious sustainability goals. With every additional watt of renewable electricity produced, we actively contribute to creating a more sustainable and resilient future,” Cold Move says.
