French nuclear reactor maker Areva (CEPFi.PA) and utility GDF Suez (GSZ.PA) are set to announce a partnership in wind energy in the next few weeks, newspaper Les Echos reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources.
The two groups are in advanced talks to bring Vinci (SGEF.PA), the world's largest construction and concessions group, into the partnership, the report said. The pair is also mulling the inclusion of Denmark's DONG [DOENRY.UL] Energy.
Together, Areva and GDF hope to get a slice of France's upcoming tender offer for 3,000 megawatts of wind power, worth 10 billion euros ($14.53 billion), the report said.
Spokespeople at Areva and GDF were unavailable for comment.
