Gasoline prices and the current turmoil in the Middle East have once again brought the spotlight on the United States' heavy dependence on foreign oil to literally keep America moving. There has never before been a better time for our country to get behind the only viable, ready replacement for foreign oil to power our vehicles — ethanol.
Ethanol is made in America, by Americans, in American-owned biorefineries (we have six in Missouri), and these jobs cannot be taken overseas.
Each ethanol biorefinery is a strong economic boon to the areas and states they are in and are usually one of the biggest things to happen within those areas to preserve production agriculture's financial health and long-term sustainability.
