SNEC 2011: China's largest solar exibition set to get underway

This week will see Shanghai play host to the 5th SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition at the city's International Expo Center. With 1,818 exhibitors from over 60 countries, the event is one of the most significant on the solar calendar and you can keep tabs on the goings on right here at PVTech.org or by paying a visit to the PV Tech team at booth 112-115 in hall E2.

Among those to look at for at the event in 2011:

Heraeus: is displaying its silver metallization paste for crystalline solar cells at booth 325, hall W3.

Jonas & Redmann: will be showcasing its wafer handling diffusion system. The system is designed to automatically load and unload silicon wafers for batch diffusion processing while increasing the productivity of the POCI3 diffusion stage. Also exhibited will be the firm's TWIN design wafer handling diffusion system, a configuration that enables the loading and unloading of two batch diffusion systems and significantly increases productivity and throughput performance. Jonas & Redmann can be found at booth 580, hall E3.

AU Optronics: will use the exhibition to present its industry-leading SunForte PM318B00 and PM240P00 modules at booth 515, hall W4.

Komax: has signed a cooperation agreement with Yingkou Jinchen, under which Komax will acquire a 51% stake in the newly founded Komax Jinchen. The step will add laminators for additional market segments to Komax’s product range and improve its access to the fast-growing Chinese solar market. Komax is exhibiting at booth 550, hall E3.

Full updates on which companies are exhibiting — as well as up-to-the-minute announcements — will be posted throughout the day in English and Mandarin by both the London team, as well as our roving reporters working live from China.

SNEC runs from February 22-24 and will be held in Shanghai's New International Expo Center.
