Iran, slammed with a fifth round of UN sanctions for not stopping uranium enrichment, has already produced 30 kilograms of the potential nuclear-bomb-making material, according to the nation's atomic chief.
ISNA news agency quoted Ali-Akbar Salehi, the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), as saying on Wednesday that the country has enriched uranium to the 20-per-cent level.
He had claimed a few months back that Iran "can enrich uranium to any percent it wishes," as "it is Iran's legal right."
Iran, which began the 20-per-cent enrichment process in February to produce fuel for the Tehran medical reactor, claims to have a monthly production capability of 5 kilograms of enriched uranium.
