Castlemaine electric cars join trial

Seven electric cars made by Castlemaine company Blade Electric will be part of a Victoria-wide trial involving households and workplace fleets.

The State Government says the five-year trial will involve 60 cars and will test how vehicle and recharging equipment works on a daily basis.

The Government is funding the charging points, while users will pay for the electricity required.

Applications to take part in the trial opened in Oct.6, 2010.
