Razor technologies developed this new electric SUV. Hyundai is leading the charge with their commitment. The companies will use part of the 20 billion dollars to get the SUVs to production lines.
The electric SUV gets 100 miles on average per gallon and only costs 50 cents per gallon. That's because for the first 40 miles it runs off battery. The difference between this vehicle and previous hybrid electric vehicles is that the gas motor is not used to propel the vehicle. The gas engine only powers on occasionally to recharge the battery.
Governor Schweitzer will be one of the first to own one of the 20 electric vehicles. He will have an F150 truck in the beginning of 2011.
