The Texas Renewable Energy Industry Association Becomes the Latest Sponsor for the Clean Technology

CTSI today announced that TREIA — the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association has become the latest sponsor for the Clean Technology 2009 Conference and Expo, taking place May 3-7, 2009 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, in Houston Texas. Clean Technology 2009 will assemble the entire clean technology ecosystem — including industry, academia and government — in a manner that promotes sustainability and accelerates the flow of energy, water and environmental technologies from development to implementation.

The Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association is a trade and advocacy organization headquartered in Austin, Texas. With more than 400 member companies, organizations and individuals, TREIA represents all facets of the renewable energy industry — including solar power, wind power, biomass, liquid renewable fuels, geothermal heating and electric generation, and sustainable/green building design and construction.

"TREIA plays an important role in shaping the agenda for the renewable industry in Texas, and we're sponsoring Clean Technology 2009 because it will assemble the industry leaders and the policy makers that we want to work with, and introduce our members to," said Russel E. Smith, Executive Director of the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association. "We're committed to enhancing and evolving the renewable industry as a whole, and we're looking forward to helping our members cultivate new opportunities at the Clean Technology '09 event."
"Support from TREIA and its broad membership underscores the state of Texas' commitment to renewable energy, and the overall value the show will bring to all who participate," said Christopher Erb, Vice President of the Clean Technology 09 event. "With each passing week, momentum for Clean Technology '09 is building at an increasing rate, and we're looking forward to welcoming TREIA members as a part of a growing community focused on sustainable energy solutions."

Since 1984, TREIA has worked with the Texas Legislature and state agencies — including the Public Utility Commission, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the State Energy Conservation Office, to raise awareness and to guide the direction of the renewable energy industry.

Clean Technology '09 will be co-located with the TechConnect Summit, which is an information and networking exchange where executives from Fortune 500 companies present their clean technology issues and challenges to the academic and research communities attending the event — who in turn, discuss how their current research projects might be applied or adapted to address the needs presented. This exchange of needs, ideas and solutions makes Clean Technology '09 unique from any other event in the industry, placing a heavy emphasis on commercializing technological innovation, and mapping new innovations to the problems they're best suited to address.

More than 400 companies, universities, equipment manufacturers and solutions providers are exhibiting in the Houston event, where they will meet with more than 5,000 prospects and potential buyers, who come to the expo to evaluate the latest technology and services.
