American Municipal Power-Ohio (AMP-Ohio) took another step toward “Green Energy” by acquiring licenses for two proposed hydroelectric facilities on the Ohio River.
Coldwater is among 79 of AMP-Ohio’s 119 municipal electric systems in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Michigan who have pledged to develop the non-polluting projects.
The nonprofit wholesale power supplier agency has no firm timetable for building the two plants, but both projects will likely be completed within 10 years, according to company spokesman Kent Carson.
