[International Energy Network Live Report] The side event titled”Technological Innovation for Eco-friendly Desert Photovoltaic Power Plants” was held at the China Pavilion of COP16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the afternoon of December 11, which was hosted by the Center for Energy Transition and Social Development, School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, co-hosted by the China Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design, and the China-Arab Green Development Cooperation Center, and hosted by the International Energy Network. Photovoltaic cables have been certified by multiple parties and exported overseas

Shanghai Jinyou Jinhong Intelligent Electric Co., Ltd. is dedicated to the research and development and manufacturing of wires and cables in the photovoltaic power generation industry, which has drafted a number of standards for photovoltaic cables and prefabricated substations, and has always been at the forefront of the industry, helping the global sustainable ecological development.

The company’s products have passed TUV Rheinland certification, TUV Süddeutsche certification, EU CE safety certification, China Quality Certification Center mandatory and voluntary certification, PCCC power “Beijing” certification, UL American Underwriters Laboratory certification and other product certifications and ROHS2.0 SGS testing. For example, China’s Qinghai 3GW solar power plant, fishery-solar complementary photovoltaic project, 700MWCSP+250MW photovoltaic hybrid Dubai project, Jinyou factory roof photovoltaic project and other projects all use our cables.

Focus on the research and promotion of photovoltaic cables specifically designed for desert areas

Jinyou has been deeply involved in the industry for many years. Pan Chenxi pointed out that Jinyou focuses on the research and promotion of photovoltaic cables, especially photovoltaic cables specifically designed for desert areas.

In 2012, Jinyou’s photovoltaic cables for desert photovoltaic power stations have also passed the appraisal of the National Energy Administration.

Since 2016, in response to the different characteristics of different deserts, in order to adapt to the various harsh environments in desert areas, reduce the damage to the surface caused by construction sites and later maintenance, we have improved the original desert photovoltaic cables and developed photovoltaic cables specifically designed for desert areas that can not only be used in arid deserts, but also in high groundwater levels, and meet the requirements of anti-rodent, anti-termite, anti-small animal, and frost heave resistance, which can be directly buried and overhead.

The cable uses multi-layer insulation and multi-layer integrated sheath. Whether it is tensile strength, compression resistance, waterproof and other indicators, it far exceeds the standard requirements of the original photovoltaic cable, ensuring a service life of 25 years, while reducing the initial investment of the project. It greatly reduces the workload of on-site pipe threading and saves investment costs.

In 2022, the cable passed the appraisal and won the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
