From June 13th to 15th, the 17th (2024) International Solar PV and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Conference and Exhibition was held in Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. As a leading company of floating solar system, Mr. Xing Junsheng, Chairman of Foner Solar, accepted an interview with the International Energy network, and made a clear description of the strategic positioning, development planning, corporate advantages and the latest development trends of the FPV industry.
According to Mr. Xing Junsheng’s statement, Foner Solar is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of floaters. There are two main series of products of Foner Solar: First, Seaflower series of floating solar system, mainly used in reservoirs, lakes, offshore sea and other waters; The second is the sunflower series of flat PV installation system, which is mainly used for scenes such as roofs, marshes and ground.
The core team members of Foner Solar are composed of the first senior people engaged in the FPV industry in China. They have been engaged in the molding industry for more than 20 years, and have the richest experience in the development, production and quality control of molds, and have accumulated more than 40 independent intellectual property rights and national patents in the FPV industry for nearly ten years.
Mr. Xing Junsheng announced on behalf of Foner Solar: Foner Solar is the world’s first introduction of the full life cycle solution of FPV system. The proposal means that at the end of the 25-year operating cycle of the FPV system, Foner Solar will commit to recycling the floating system. At present, Foner Solar is combining relevant enterprise resources to jointly promote popularization of the whole life cycle program.
During the exhibition, the world’s most authoritative third party certification body TÜV Rhein issued certification to Foner Solar Seaflower series and Sunflower series, which also fully proved the technical ability of Foner Solar. In terms of production, the current comprehensive annual capacity of Foner Solar reaches 500MW and can rapidly expand production capacity to 1GW~2GW according to the orders.
Regarding the environmental protection issues that we are concerned about, Mr. Xing Junsheng said that the floating body material of Foner Solar is food-grade HDPE, which is environmentally friendly and pollution-free. The design of the FPV system fully considers the factors of shelter and environmental protection, and the floating system does not affect the water body of the project, the water quality and the survival of aquatic organisms. In the construction and operation and maintenance, the FPV project has little impact on the environment, and the environmental protection effect is excellent.
At the end of the interview, Mr. Xing Junsheng said that the current FPV system has come to the critical point of outbreak. With the expansion of PV installed scale, whether roof resources, or land resources which centralized power stations need are getting less and less , and the projects that can be developed are also decreasing. Water FPV and offshore FPV also have the broadest space for development. Secondly, with the module power increase and the optimization of the floating solar system, the EPC cost of the FPV project is greatly reduced, which is very economical.
