NTPC Renewables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited bids from consultants to conduct a geotechnical investigation for 105 MW and 220 MW solar power projects at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The last date to submit the bids is December 24. Bids will be opened on the same day.
The work should include mobilizing equipment and providing engineering supervision and technical personnel as required to carry out the field and laboratory investigations.
The successful bidder must furnish 3% of the total contract value as a contract performance guarantee within ten days of the issue of the award letter.
The work should be completed within six weeks from the date of the letter of award.
NTPC Renewables was declared one of the winners in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited’s (RUMSL) auction for 450 MW of solar projects at the Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. NTPC Renewables won a capacity of 105 MW quoting ?2.35 (~$0.0316)/kWh, and also a capacity of 220 MW quoting ?2.33 (~$0.0313)/kWh.
The tender said that if the work is not completed within the stipulated time, the consultant will have to pay liquidated damages at 0.5% of the contract value, subject to a maximum of 5% of the total contract value.
The entire field and laboratory work should be supervised by a post-graduate in geotechnical engineering with at least five years of experience in geotechnical investigation work. The scheduling of laboratory tests, analysis, interpretation of test results, and the drafting of the report should also be carried out by a post-graduate in geotechnical engineering with at least five years of experience.
Any manufacturing or consulting firm associated with the consultant will not be eligible to participate in any project resulting from or associated with this consultancy assignment.
Preference will be given to micro and small enterprises (MSEs). In case the L1 bidder is not an MSE, then all the MSE vendors who have quoted within the range of L1 + 15% will be given the opportunity in order of their ranking to bring down their price to match the L1 price. The contract will be awarded to the MSE vendor who matches the price quoted by the L1 bidder.
Last month, NTPC invited bids to appoint consultants for registration, validation, and verification exercise for the first five years for the 200 MW capacity of the 250 MW Anantpur solar power project under the Global Carbon Council program.
Earlier, Meja Urja Nigam, a joint venture of NTPC and the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, had invited bids to hire consultants to prepare a detailed project report for setting up a 55 MW solar power project.
