ReNew Power, Green Infra Wind Energy (Sembcorp), Anupavan Renewables (EverGreen), Adani Renewable Energy, and Azure Power were declared winners in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects (Tranche-XI) in the country.
ReNew Power won a capacity of 300 MW, Green Infra Wind Energy (180 MW), and Anupavan Renewables (150 MW), each quoting 2.69 (~$0.0369)/kWh. Adani Renewable Energy and Azure Power quoted 2.70 (~$0.037)/kWh for 450 MW and 120 MW.
SECI had floated the tender in May this year.
Meanwhile, the lowest tariff quoted in a wind auction remains at 2.44 (~$0.033)/kWh. The tariff was discovered in SECI’s auction of 2 GW of ISTS-connected wind projects under Tranche-III in February 2018.
Power procured by SECI from the projects will be sold to the distribution companies (DISCOMs) of Madhya Pradesh. The DISCOMs will procure Power through Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company, which is the authorized representative for signing the power sale agreement on behalf of the DISCOMs.
The developer will be responsible for acquiring the land required for setting up the project. SECI will not be accountable for the land acquisition in any manner.
Only certified wind turbine models listed in the ‘Revised List of Models and Manufactures’ issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will be allowed for deployment under the program.
The lowest tariff of 2.69 (~$0.033)/kWh is nearly 2.9% less than the lowest tariff of 2.77 (~$0.038)/kWh quoted in the Tranche X auction.
In March this year, Adani Renewable Energy, Ayana Renewable Power, Evergreen Power, and JSW Future Energy won 1.2 GW of wind projects in the SECI’s auction to select developers for ISTS-connected wind projects (Tranche X) in the country.
Adani Renewable Energy had won 300 MW of wind projects quoting 2.77 (~$0.0382)/kWh. Meanwhile, Ayana Renewable Power (300 MW), Evergreen Power (150 MW), and JSW Future Energy (450 MW) had quoted 2.78 (~$0.0383)/kWh.
