German wind and solar park operator Encavis AG (ETR:CAP) on Thursday said it has inked an agreement with local solar project developer Sunovis GmbH to develop two subsidy-free solar projects with a total capacity of around 240 MW in Germany.
Two solar farms, each with capacity of about 120 MW, will be build at two different locations in Germany. Construction is expected to start within a year. Together the two facilities will save about 65,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually.
Sunovis will be responsible for all project development services as well as for the construction and maintenance of the solar parks. Encavis will be responsible for project financing, design, negotiation and conclusion of long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).
This is the latest cooperation between the two companies. Sunovis previously constructed two facilities with a combined capacity of 14.3 MW that were bought by Encavis.
