SECI invites queries online as pre-bid meetings get cancelled

Prospective bidders for 34 MW solar project in Telangana and 14 MW solar plus storage project in Ladakh have been asked to submit any queries online as pre-bid meetings get cancelled due to Covid-19 lockdown. Further, bidding deadline for Ladakh project has been revised to June 1.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has requested all prospective bidders to 34 MW Singareni Collieries Company Ltd project in Telangana and 14 MW solar plus storageproject in Ladakh to submit their pre-bid queries online so as to save on overall tendering time.

It’s evident that the global outbreak of pandemic Novel Coronavirus, Covid-19 has significantly hampered the functioning of all sectors including institutions, commercial establishments, offices and various manufacturing units are also at standstill. India is phasing through this crucial time having a complete Lockdown of all the States and Union Territories till April 14, 2020. As a result, the pre bid meeting scheduled for the subject tender could not be conducted on March 30”—read a notification by SECI adding that “conducting pre bid meeting would not be feasible in the current circumstances.”

34 MW SCCL project

Global bids were invited in March to set up 34 MW (AC) grid-connected solar power plant for the SCCL at its two different sites in Telangana.

The total capacity of 34 MW—to be developed at Chennur (11 MW) and Kothagudam (23 MW)—shall be awarded to a single successful bidder selected through international competitive bidding followed by reverse auction.

14 MW Ladakh project

The 14 MW solar power plant with 42 MWh battery energy storage system in Union Territory of Ladakh shall come up at Leh and Kargil districts (7 MW with 21 MWh each) and is to be developed on “build own operate” basis.

The buying entity shall enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the selected bidder for a period of 25 years with the maximum levelized tariff payable  fixed at Rs 2/KWh for the PPA duration.
