With the development of the world economy, the wind energy market has developed rapidly. Wind energy is a clean source of renewable energy, and it has gained more and more world attention. China's wind energy reserves have a wide range of distribution, development and utilization. As energy saving and environmental protection goes, in regards to new energy, the wind power industry has won a historic opportunity for development, and has gained rapid development momentum in recent years.
By yhe end of 2010, global wind power total installed capacity of 199,520 MW generating capacity of more than 409.9 billion kwh, accounting for 1.92 percent of the world's total electricity generating capacity. The development has slowed in traditional markets, and in emerging markets it appears more vigorous. China Wind power new capacity reached 18,928 MW in 2010, accounting for a global new installed capacity of 48%, more than the United States, making china become the world's first wind power market.
Chinese wind power industry development prospects are expected to for a long time in the future maintain rapid development, and it is also believed that profitability will increase steadily as the technology matures.During a 25 year period, China's wind power installed capacity will gain speed and will continue to maintain its rapid growth in wind farm construction, and power generation, wind power equipment manufacturing and other fields as it become a hot investment destination.
However, since the second half of 2011, the pace of development in the domestic wind power industry began to slow. The 2011 report shows that many domestic wind power class performance listed companies saw a decline. In 20 major wind power listed companies' financial data, 2011 China's major wind power developer enterprises' income grew by 11.3%, net profit fell 19.4%, 60% of the enterprises in the entire wind power industry chain had falling profits.
China's wind power overcapacity still continues. Among them, the leading enterprises in the wind power equipment business such as Sinovel, Goldwind results lead down to "profits shrinking by over 70%. Sinovel recently released 2012 first quarter results showed that its profit was 56.758 million yuan, down 87.06 percent; Goldwind, net profit fell 97 percent, dropping to 6.1 million yuan.
With the industry downturn, market and media opinion has changed since a few years ago, enthusiasm declined as well as the overall attitude, and people have constantly questioned the industry's prospects. In fact, the development of an industry has been easy, the development of emerging industries need more understanding and support. Lisheng Mao that "Wind power is an important part of the new energy industry, and it occupies an important position in the future world energy structure and as such, has good development prospects in the long run." Industry sources concur, they believe that the wind power industry is still a widely sought after emerging industry turning into a competitive industry, the overall trend of the wind power industry in 2012 will change from the over growth to a more reasonable controlled growth trend
In order to reverse the present situation in the wind power industry, the relevant state department issued a series of policies. In the plan according to the National Energy Board, during the "12th Five-Year" period China will vigorously promote the development of low wind speed region resources, and locally build small and medium-sized wind farms, utilizing low-speed wind turbines, and creating a network to local consumers, increasing their satisfaction which will reduce the wind power grid's pressure.
The International Energy Network analysts believe that China's wind power industry is currently a leader in size, however, especially in the technical aspects and grid regulations, China is relatively weak or even backward. Wind power companies in order to break through their own bottlenecks must use independent innovation and start to develop improved technological content, better quality and units. This is the fundamental solution to the current problem's facing wind power.
