Fedders Lloyd to expand wind energy equipments facility in Gujarat

ET reported that Lloyd Group owned Fedders Lloyd plans to invest INR 200 crore for expanding its newly built manufacturing facility for wind turbine towers, heavy precision fabrication and machining facility in Bharuch district, Gujarat. The group commissioned first phase of the unit and it has already acquired desired land for the phased expansion.


The company in a release said that "The main potential customers include GE, Siemens, Gamesa, Vestas, Inox and Kenersys." Commenting on the project commissioning Fedders Lloyd CMD Mr Brij Raj Punj said that "Renewable energy represents the next big frontier in the technology industry and wind power one of the fastest growing energy source in the world. Our new facility is a testament to Fedders Lloyd's commitment to contribute towards India's growing energy revolution and empowered nation."


Union Minister for new and renewable energy Mr Farooq Abdullah and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi inaugurated new facility of Fedders Lloyd. The plant is capable of manufacturing wind turbine powers up to 3 MW and heavy precision fabrication of components up to 80 tonne. Fedder Lloyd plans to roll out its first tower by this month end and will cater to wind-turbine makers in and outside India.
