Georgia may become one of largest 'green energy' producers

Georgia may become one of the expert and largest manufacturer of 'green energy' (clean energy) for Europe, deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Baramidze said during the 15th Eurasian Economic Summit, the press office of the deputy Prime Minister told Trend on Thursday.


Baramidze presented the report on the situation in Georgia and the prospects for its economic development.


According to information, the vice Prime Minister spoke at a session on energy, economy and sustainable development and told the audience about the reforms being implemented in Georgia and the economic successes achieved. He noted the role of Georgia as a transit country for energy supplies and electricity.


The presidents of Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonian deputy Prime Minister, ministers and parliamentarians from Austria, USA, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, Estonia , Romania, Czech Republic, Ukraine and other countries are all attending the summit.
